Virtual Farm Tour

Farm Tour

Welcome to the Bridgestone Manor Farms web site.  We hope you enjoy your virtual tour of our farm.   We have worked very hard to make this farm a safe and healthy place for farm tours by school groups, birthday parties, and visits from neighborhood children.

This is a picture of our house and a picture of our barn from our back porch.  And yes, the rainbow is real.  If you look closely, you will see that it actually was a double rainbow.  This was taken right after a early spring rain.  What a sight!

Come take a look around other pictures from the barnyard and beyond!

This is the other end of that rainbow.  It just circled my yard.  This picture was taken from the balcony of my upstairs deck looking to the side of my yard.  I don’t think I will ever see anything this brilliant again in my life.  I am glad we have a digital camera!

This is a picture of the outside goat stalls.  We converted a neighbors old horse barn into our new goat barn.  These stalls allow us to house many goats during the winter together while keeping them separated by size, age, and sex.  These pens have removable walls made out of 2 by 6’s which allow us to make them larger if needed.  They are normally set up as 10 feet by 12 feet areas to house the goats.

These are our inside stalls.  They are used for kidding and nursing pens or just separating that ornery goat that just won’t seem to get along with others.  These are great pens as they also have removable walls made out of 2 by 6’s.  This makes them easy to clean as well as modify size when needed.  These pens are 5 feet by 10 feet.  Just the perfect size for a doe and triplets to grow up together while nursing or weaning!  The gates came from TSC’s new goat line.

This is a picture of the side of barn for the outside stalls to allow the goats to come outside and play in their own space.  The end paddocks are large enough to hold 8-10 goats.  The end paddocks are close to the barn. The center paddock allows the goats to run into an area that will hold up to 15-20 goats.  There is just a run between the two end paddocks that the goats must go through to get to their play area.   The goats are separated by size, age and sex in each of these paddock areas.  This allows us to control breeding as needed.  The paddocks are all connected with a gate system that allows us to easily move goats when one feels he or she must become dominant or just because we want to change playmates or who gets bred to which does and when.

This is a picture of the upper pasture just after a snow storm.  Beautiful before the cows disturbed the snow!

This is a picture from the house looking down by the barn just after a snow storm.  When the pipes to the barn freeze we have to pull hoses from this point to the barn.  What a fun job this is to ensure that the goats have fresh water each day.
